Making Water in a Water Bottle

The explosion was very fast and very powerful. If you watch the video on a normal VCR, you do not see any flame (but you hear some great sound). On a high quality VCR with frame-by-frame capabilities, the explosion can only be seen on only one frame. The first three photos above are three frames in a row on the tape. Two boards were used to prop the bottle. One of them is still visible beneath the flame. Shortly thereafter, they are airborne and the bottle is nowhere to be seen. Upon recovering the bottle, we discovered that the original opening was not large enough for the speeding water molecules.
Results from a different trial of the experiment.
